NIGHT TIME SKINCARE ROUTINE

image

Hi my beauti’s! Sharmin here and I am back with my Night Time Skincare Routine. If you haven’t read my Morning Skincare Routine then check that out before reading this so everything will make a bit more sense!

Some products may be the same as my morning routine but most of them will be different. So let’s get started!

Firstly, as it becomes towards the end of the day majority of them time I do have makeup on, but if I don’t I still carry out this step. So when I have really heavy makeup on I use the Bodyshop Camomile Oil Cleanser, this enables the product to get right into my skin and melt away all the makeup. I use about 2-3 pumps and distribute the product all over my face. Once that is done I use a muslin cloth rinsed in warm water and wipe away the oil. However when I have very subtle makeup on I use Botanics Micellar water. I just pop some onto a cotton pad and wipe away. I use about 2-3 cotton pads.

Although both oil and micellar cleansers are great products and get rid of majority of the makeup off my face, they unfourtunatly leave a few specks of makeup on my face. So I use my La Roche Posay Effacular Purifying Cleansing Gel to get rid of that. Same steps as my morning routine using my Primark Facial Cleansing brush.

Step 3 exfoliating! As I mentioned in my morning routine I don’t always carry out this step. I only do this about 3-4 days a week. Using my hands to work this into my skin or for more intense exfoliating i use the back of my Primark Facial Cleansing brush and rinse away with lukewarm water and then cool shot my face with cold water.

Nearly getting there guys lol! After all that you guys must know that it’s time for toning! As mentioned in my morning routine I use the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic for when my skin is feeling a bit rough and sore and on my good skin days I use the Mario Badescu Alpha Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion. I pop some onto a cotton pad and rub it into my skin

Now time for something different! Face masks! Who doesn’t love a good face mask ey?! I also don’t carry this step out every night I do this about 2-3 days a week. I use 2 different face masks again depending on how my skin is feeling. So when I’m having a bad skin day and unfortunately get those mean breakouts I use the Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2 in 1 wash and mask. I absolutely love this face mask! It calms down all the breakouts. It is honestly one of those products that makes you feel extra beautiful! The second mask I use is when I’m having a good skin day and just when I’m in the mood for good face mask! It’s is the Nip n Fab (soften) Kale Fix Clay Mask. This product honestly leaves my skin glowing like crazy and soft as a babies bum! For both masks I use 2 pea size amounts on the back of my hand and apply onto my face using any clean makeup brush.

We’re getting there I promise! One of my favourite steps is moisturising! I still use my coconut oil around my eyes of course as I cannot use nothing else. However on my face I use the Bodyshop Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion. Believe me guys this does what it actually says in the name! It gets rid of majority blemishes and marks when you are using it regularly. Also not forgetting how soft and hydrated it keeps my face throughout the whole night.

And finally the last step! I only use this product when I get breakouts. Especially those nasty big spots that appear out of no where!!! I use the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. This honestly reduces the size of my spots incredibly. However one con of this product is that it doesn’t get rid of the actual spots. But I can’t complain I rather have a tiny spot than a massive one! Do not shake the bottle just pop a little cotton bud/q tip into the bottle and get a good amount of the pink sediment inside and then pop onto the spots!

And that’s it guys! I hope I didn’t blab on too much and I hope you have enjoyed this post! Now remember be you, be confident and love yourself!

SPRING PINK’S

image1 (4)

Hello Beauti’s,

I hope you all had a fab Friday, because I did! The weather here in London was surprisingly sunny and warm, so I made the most of it (as you will see in next weeks blog post). I doubt that this sunshine will even last long *sighs*, as much as I love London, I definitely DO NOT love the indecisive weather!

Speaking of weather… the season of Spring is finally here! Which is why I have chosen to do a post on the perfect pink lipsticks for spring time.

image2 (1)

I personally feel as if spring makeup is all about having fresh looking dewy skin, with a pop of colour on the cheeks and lips. After rocking heavy liner and dark lips all winter, I prefer something a bit more colourful and bright! That’s why I think pink is perfect for spring. Everyone owns a pink lipstick (or several in my case) but I think it’s time to ditch that same pink lipstick that you have been buying since you were 16 and go for a more bold statement pink or even a beautiful pinkish nude. The options are endless. I know a lot of people are not a fan of pink lipstick, but who’s to say pink lips can’t be just as classy as the infamous red lip?

Here are a select few of my favourites!

image3 (1)
Bottom to Top: Miss Sporty (Read My Lips), Nyx-Soft Matte Lip Cream (Prague), Maybelline (Mauve Mania), Kiko (903), Bourjois – Velvet (Nude-ist), Nyx-Soft Matte Lip Cream (Cannes), Kiko (613), L’oreal -Color Rich Serum (Freshly Rosy).
  •  Miss Sporty (Read My Lips) – This is a beautiful coral shade and is very bright and bold. Perfect for a statement lip. However Miss Sporty have changed their range and this shade is no longer available. BUT I have found a dupe! Rimmel- Kate (Vibrant Coral) available at Superdrug (£5.49)
  • Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream (Prague) – I  absolutely love this colour so bright and long-lasting, it just glides on with ease and it smells DELICIOUS! ( Boots – £5.50)
  • Maybelline Color Sensational (Mauve Mania) – You cannot go wrong with this shade, it’s not too bold but not too nude either. It’s the perfect in between shade. (Superdrug- £6.99)
  • Kiko Smart Lipstick (903) – I love this shade it’s the second time I’ve bought it, it does have a shine to it so I like to put some translucent powder over it to make it matte (Kiko £3.90)
  • Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick (Nude-ist) – I cannot express my love for this product, I first got it as a gift from my aunt and now I am obsessed. It is so smooth and velvety just like its name. (Boots/Superdrug £8.99)
  • Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream (Cannes) – This colour is the prettiest pink nude that I own. I love wearing this as an everyday spring lipstick. (Boots- £5.50)
  • Kiko Velvet Mat- Satin Lipstick (613)- One of the main reasons I have an ever growing love for this product is that it is yet again an everyday spring lipstick and suits every skin tone. In addition the packaging is so classy and high-end looking, without the high end price! (Kiko £6.90)
  • L’oreal Color Riche Serum (Freshly Rosy) – I do like this colour, however for me personally I feel like it doesn’t complement my skin tone well, so I like to sometimes mix it with other pink shades to create a colour that I am happy with. (Boots £8.69)

That’s it! My fave spring pinks all in one place just for you. I hope you enjoyed this post. What are your favourite spring lipsticks? Comment Below.

Morning Skincare Routine

image

Hi Beauti’s, Sharmin here! First of all I would like to say this is my first ever post that I am writing on my own so bare with me if it is a bit all over the place, I am still trying to get the hang of things lol!!!

So today I’m here to go through my Morning Skincare Routine! I was going to do my Morning & Night Time routine together as 1 big post but then I realised it will end up looking like a storybook lol!!!

So anyway, more onto the Skincare subject. Now here’s a quick little brief bit about my skin. I suffered from really bad acne especially during my early teenage years. And with acne comes really bad OILY SKIN! They were both so bad that nothing could get rid of it! If I am 100% honest with you, my skin only started getting better within the last 1 or 2 years, with the help of nothing! It literally went away by itself, no treatments, no products! So I was lucky in a way. But then unfortunately I started suffering from eczema around my eyes. So even though the severe acne went away, up until today I still get those random breakouts, oily skin and eczema around my eyes. The products I use now have honestly improved my skin so much and these all have become my absolute holy grails!

So let’s get started!

So the first thing I do as soon as I get out of bed is brush my teeth duh! Then I wash my face with the La Roche Posay Effacular Purifying Cleansing Gel (damn that’s a long name) I apply a small amount all over my face then work that into my skin with my Primark Facial Cleansing Brush. I then rinse my face with lukewarm water.

image

Second step is to exfoliate! Now I don’t do this step every single day, I do this about 3-4 days a week. I use the St Ives Apricot Scrub. I mainly use this when my skin is in need of a good hardcore cleanse and days when my skin is just feeling and looking really dull, when it occurs like this I use the back side of the Primark Facial Cleansing brush to work that in but most of the time I use my hands as this is quite a rough exfoliator! I then rinse my face with lukewarm water and then cool shot my face with cold water, this numbs the skin slightly and closes pores so excess dirt cannot enter.

Step 3! Toning! After cleansing and drying my skin tends to feel quite dry which is totally fine! I tone my skin to give me extra hydration along with my moisturiser. I use 2 different toners not together just depending how my skin is feeling. I have quite sensitive skin so sometimes some products irritate me. Times like this I use the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic. This product honestly is so soothing for my skin especially when my eczema is quite bad. I just pop some onto a cotton pad and rub it into my skin. On the other hand when I am having an awesome skin day I use the Mario Badescu Alpha Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion. It sounds a bit harsh because of the grapefruit but it honestly isn’t! I use the same method as the skin tonic to apply this.

Last but certainly not least! Moisturising! This is probably my favourite part lol! Firstly as I suffer from mild eczema around my eyes I’ve learnt that I cannot really use any sort of cream or serum around there so I use coconut oil! This is the only product I can use around my eyes but if you guys know anything else I can use do let me know in the comments below! Now for my face, this is an oldie but a goodie of mine! It is the Bodyshop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser. This little thing keeps my skin feeling so soft and hydrated ALL day. It is such a light moisturiser yet so hydrating. I just evenly distribute this all over my face avoiding my eye area and I’m good to go!

image

Coconut Oil – Holland & Barretts £4.49 (currently on offer) £8.99 (usual price) Vitamin C Cream – Bodyshop £16.00

And that’s it guys! That is my Morning Skincare Routine, I’ve been doing this for abou a year now and it’s safe to say that my skin is at a much better place. My Night Time Skincare Routine will be up in a couple of days, I must say its more of an intense routine. I also just wanted to put out there that I use to be so embarrassed of my skin I done so much to get rid of all the spots but nothing had worked. Then I honestly just let my skin be and now I am not afraid of walking around with a naked face!  So be you, be confident and love yourself!

Thats all for now guys, I hope you’ve enjoyed this post.

Love Sharmin x

Glow Hard or Go Home!

Left to Right: Milani Baked Bronzer, Seventeen Instant Glow, Milani Rose D’Oro, Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer, Benefit Sunbeam

Hi my beauti’s!

I’m back again, this time with a post on makeup. Although I am not a makeup artist or someone with a background in beauty, I still believe I can shed some light on the subject, due to my intense passion for all things beauty related. This brings me to today’s topic… Highlighting!

I can tell you now that I am a sucker for a good, affordable highlighter.  A strong highlight definitely adds a touch of glamour to my everyday look. However I feel as if it is quite difficult for us brown girls to find the perfect highlighter. Simply because not all highlighters complement our skin tone. When looking for a highlighter I believe we should go for something that has a warm tone to it. Above I have included some that I think are just gorgeous!

The Milani Baked Bronzer works well as a highlighter for brown skin as it has a golden glow to it and is very pigmented (a little goes a long way with this product).

Seventeen’s Instant Glow is probably one of my favourites because of its multiple uses, it can be used for the eyes, highlighting and contouring!

Moving on to the Milani Baked Blusher, although it is a blusher it can still be used as a subtle highlight as it is a very light pink with a hint of gold.
Lastly my two current faves which I use together for a intense highlight. The Makeup Revolution- Vivid baked bronzer which is highly pigmented and has a beautiful golden bronze shimmer to it and the Benefit- Sun beam which comes in liquid form with a brush applicator (like a nail polish brush) it is a stunning bright gold and can be built up for a more intense look or just a few dots for a natural glow. I usually dot this across the top of my cheek bones, under the arch of my brow and along the centre of my nose, then blend it out using a beauty blender.

That’s all for now! Do follow and check out my previous posts if you are new to Uni-Beauti. Also comment the link to your own blogs so I can check them out!

Stay beautiful.

DIY Coffee Scrub

Hello My Beauti’s

I hope you are all well. If this is your first time here check out the about page to see what Uni-Beauti is all about. I am super excited to share this DIY coffee scrub with you. As it has become my favourite skin care product and I use it RELIGIOUSLY! I guarantee that once you try it you won’t go back to any other exfoliating skin care product. Seriously I’m that confident about this scrub.

Altogether my ingredients cost £9.50! Which is MUCH cheaper than most shop bought coffee scrubs. Let me start by telling you about the benefits of using coffee scrubs. Firstly it is a fantastic exfoliator and is not harsh (for those with sensitive skin), It reduces blemishes, pigmentation, stretch marks, scars and cellulite. What can’t this scrub do?

image3

Ingredients:

Ground Coffee- 1-2 cups (make sure you don’t use instant coffee as this will dissolve)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil – 10-12 tbsp.
Coconut Oil – 2 heaped tbsp.
Rose Water -3-4 tbsp.
Pour all your ingredients into a bowl and stir so that everything is distributed evenly throughout the mixture. Store in a air tight jar or container and keep it in the bathroom.

As a long term eczema sufferer this scrub has helped to heal my skin so much. It cleared up within two weeks (It’s a miracle right?) and I’ve stopped using prescribed creams as they only treat the eczema temporarily. If you have eczema try out this scrub and moisturise using coconut oil.

That’s all for now my loves. I hope you do try out this scrub. You won’t regret it!

Love
